A bit inspired by seeing Wonder Woman, I admit.
The word, the concept, the ideal, the illusion.
Thought about this for a bit, particularly when it some to us women.
Inspired by all the things I have seen and heard after the US election a month or so ago.
Or as I like to call it: My little poem about feminism.
As I don’t have MTV or have any interest in any of their current programming I didn’t watch the VMAs last week, so I was not able to catch that infamous stage performance by former Disney Channel star Myley Cyrus. It was hard to miss out on all the reactions to it online though, though only a choice few tweets made it onto my feed. One tweet that stood out to me was one that said that the Oxford Dictionary had added an entry for “Twerking” (from the dance style Miss Cyrus had chosen to emulate for the VMAs) and removed the entry for “Dignity” to make room. We weren’t using that one anyway. And that got me thinking. How important is dignity to us today?
I’ve been holding back this post I wrote a few days now, because it’s one of the most…political rants I’ve ever written. But…Hey, I just reached 100 followers. Time to celebrate with a rant. (And scare everyone away. ;))
