Poetry: “Winter trees”

They are quite pretty…

***~***~***~***

Winter trees

Burdened with such
Ungainly weight
They carry it quite well
Those mounds of white
Held aloft
Glimmer in the sun

Where fall had left
Them barren
Waving branches on the breeze
Comes winter and
Envelop them
Softest blankets until spring
