Poetry: “Working class”

Some more reflections on our society…

Working class

We’ve carried the world
Upon our backs
Our sweat and our blood
We poured in the mix
As buildings were raised
Up high t’wards the sky
All our modern cities
Yes, we built them all
We care for your children
And drive you to work
When you go out eating
We ensure you get fed
All those little things
The service you need
Who made it all happen?
It was all of us
Yet still we’re pushed down
Kept down on our knees
The labor we do
Get not enough thanks
