Poetry: “Internal conflict”

Body and soul, not always in sync.

Internal conflict

The body is willing
But the mind is weak
I coax and I coddle
To make myself move
Lethargy is
But the first name
A glacier would be
Much faster than I
My brain softly whispers
How nice this all feels
To just lay around
In idle repose
My body cries “Move!”
There’s so much to do!
But the treasonous brain
Has cut it right off
This can go on
For far too long
I’ve only to wait
Until this conflict resolves
