Poetry: “A boat”

Imagery in poetry form.

(If you’ve ever heard the song: “Life is like a boat” by Rie Fu… That is the feeling.)

A boat

I am a boat
Adrift at sea
My rudder torn
And hanging loose
The waves they tug
And pull at me
There is no strength
To change my way
A current leads
Me where I may
I float along
Hope for the best
If squalls appear
With fearsome rage
I do my best
To stay afloat
One day I hope
That I might find
A quiet bay
To settle down
