Poetry: “Comfort”

Ah, the clothes we wear, a subject of some discussion if you are a woman.

I dress solely
For comfort
Not for someone else’s gaze
That fabric that
Conceals my curves
Concerns only myself

The flesh revealed
To the world
Is proportional to the heat
It’s strange that
No one makes a fuss
When a man removes his shirt

But I dress
Solely for comfort
How it feels against my skin
You’re allowed
Your own opinion
But it doesn’t bother me
