Poetry: “Company”

Humans do not live easily alone.

A patience when
I rant and race
Howling at the moon
Whether storms
In company
On our crowded little ship

Hold me up
When body weakens
Weight that pulls it down
Falling down
It doesn’t last
Standing strong in joint embrace

Growing old becomes
Less frightening
When you’re growing old with me
Let’s grab all life
In mouthfuls
Let it last as long we can
