Poetry: “Discount”

Written on a very lackluster summer’s day.

I would like a discount
On this summer
For I have not
Received my moneys’ worth
The sun
Has barely risen
For some time
Or has she hidden
Behind clouds?
The chill winds speak
More October
Than June
Though charming
It feels rather out of place
I had plans
Such summer plans
All upturned now
So I beg
For a discount
Then I’ll not feel
So displeased
