Poetry: “Sheen of hope”

Another poem based on observations, a memory preserved.

***~***~***~***

Sheen of hope

Two white ponies
Grazing
In a rain sodden field
Last year’s withered grass
Slowly bringing forth
Fresh green sprouts
Found by nimble lips
Grazing
Coats still carry
Winter’s grayish hue
Reflecting
Gray skies up above
Yet the horizon
Carry
A sheen of hope
Where feeble rays
Shine bravely through
