Poetry: “April winds”

April can be a fickle thing… It feels good to leave it behind now (burning it on a literal pyre even). 😛

April winds

The April winds are blowing
From the south on this fine day
They scent the air with flowers
Of the loveliest spring day

It encourages the bird song
Making sweetest melodies
Oh, it is the greatest pleasure
To spend time in the outdoors

The April winds are blowing
From the north on this chill day
They bring the dancing snowflakes
From the heavy clouds above

It frightens off the wildlife
Sends them down into their dens
From within our homes and hearths
We curse these frigid winds
