Poetry: “Welcome”

More personal musings. (Partial blame goes to me obsessively listening to the song “You’re Welcome” from Moana/Vaiana over and over.)

Welcome

Come on then
Into my head
With crazy dreams
And wild imagery
A collection of trinkets
Amassed in life
Such a treasure trove
Examined piece by piece
One thing plays a song
Another a tune
That I near forgot
Now awakened again
Places I’ve seen
Lined up on a shelf
All the people I’ve known
Not a one I forgot
Even those that caused me hurt
Made a part of my self
All the stories I’ve made
Where my characters live
The corners where all
My demons reside
It’s a grand tapestry
And I welcome you there
