Poetry: “Sanctimonious”

Sometimes, I get upset with certain things…

See them sitting
Up on their high horses
Throwing their stones
Blind to their own sins

Busy shoving camels
Through the eyes of needles
Too busy to see
The planks in their own eyes

Too easy to condemn
While wrapping it up
As concern
Filling their own bellies
With self satisfaction

Glorifying those
That they should condemn
If they had truly read
Those words they find so holy

Taking the words
They hold most true
And twist them to their own needs
While the world
Comes asunder

While their eyes are always fixed
On that future reward
They believe is owed to them
