Acrostic poem: “Snow melt”

It is a bit early to contemplate signs of spring, but I could not help myself. (And the weather in my parts has been rather weird, with cold and mild weather taking turns.)

Snow melt

Slowly comes the gentle turning
Nights no longer frigid cold
Often sunlight shines down warmly
Wearing down the ice and snow

Molten snow turned into slush
Eating into shoes and socks
Loathsome though it is to weather
T‘is but the start of wondrous spring
