Poetry: “The storm”

The sort of weather that leaves a deep impression on you, that needs to be expressed.

The storm

Rattling the windows
And shaking the trees
A force of destruction
That no man can stop

It tears up our gardens
And shakes up the sheds
The roofs start to clatter
As tiles tumble down

As branches come flying
It’s time to retreat
Why, even our bodies
Could be blown away

When it’s at its worst
It wipes towns away
The powerful storm
That sweeps through the land

We cannot control it
It comes where it may
The biggest, bad wolf
And we’re all fleeing pigs
