Poetry: “Outside”

Something slightly positive about winter days.

The air is brisk
A gentle slap
On your cheek
To wake you up

Exhaled breaths linger
Small clouds
Hovering over the fields
Sparkling like diamonds
A treasure
That would melt away to nothing
In your outstretched palms

The sky all pastel blues
Soft as a baby’s blanket
Sweet to behold
Morning’s last blush
Slowly fading
With the sun’s ascent

Outside wonders
Leaving such impressions
Mental photographs
Preserved in your mind’s eye
