Poetry: “Nervous disposition”

Something relevant for right now, yes.

Nervous disposition

I am
Of a nervous disposition
So please take care
When you approach
Lest I startle
Like a deer
Caught unawares
Leaving the safety of the forest
And sudden noises
Are not my friend
Which makes these days
Quite a pain
Crackling and booms
Of firecrackers
Cause my heart to race
And fireworks
Though pretty
Do not belong
So close to my window
Though you might not care
In your merriment
Soon celebrating
A new years night
Consider us
Of nervous disposition
And please keep your clamor
At a safe distance
