Poetry: “Christmas carols”

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas from Sweden, where we all gather around at this time every Christmas Eve to watch some old Disney program (don’t ask).

Hope you all have some very Happy Holidays!

Christmas carols

Come sing those old Yule time carols
Let the melodies enchant
Hailing back to days of yore
And a very different life
The tunes fill me with longing
For a Christmas more at peace
Where gatherings of best of friends
Was the highlight of the day
I let the tunes transport me
To that pleasant imagery
With chestnuts roasting on a fire
And Jack Frost nipping at my nose
Perhaps they are illusions
Merely dreams and never real
But as Eve turns into Christmas Day
They still bring me Christmas peace
