Poetry: “For everyone?”

Another slightly gloomy holiday poem, about those on the outside, looking in.

For everyone?

A Christmas carol
Barely heard
It’s carried out here
On the wind
It’s blowing cold
Right through your bones
Your ragged clothing
Don’t help much
The shelter kitchen
Might have treats
Leftover from some Christmas meals
A sweet reminder
From a time
When holidays
Were for you too
The great bit tree
Out in the square
The only tree
You’ll see this year
