Poetry: “To wait”

Today is the first of advent again, and here is a poem to contemplate on.

To wait

This time the church called advent
A wait that has begun
For that one day
For Christmas Day
When Jesus Christ was born

A time for preparation
A time to comtemplate
Things to get
And gifts to buy
This magic holiday

Consider all these virtues
That Christians adore
Perhaps we can
Recall that some
Aren’t faring very well

Instead of shopping crazes
Of money drained away
Consider sharing
What you can
Spread some joy these holidays!
