Poetry: “Leaf blowers”

One of my pet peeves… 😛

Leaf blowers

T’is the season!
For fumes and ruckus
Engines rumbling
In gardens and in streets
For clouds of dust
And sand
And grit
Thrown wide into the air
The handler shielded
With goggles
And ear muffs
Blasting music
Strolling in blissful ignorance
Of the pollution
That he spreads
It’s true
It does clear the street
No leaf is left untouched
But I fear the side effects
Aren’t nearly worth the cost
