Poetry: “Urban escape”

More commentary on urban city life, ha ha. 😛

Urban Escape

Oh, save me from the city
This big, old sprawling mess
Construction work and traffic jams
Impatient drivers honk

There’s not a quiet moment
With people whizzing past
Great shop fronts with their adverts
That scream at you to buy

I flee out to the countryside
I leave the rush behind
All clean air there and bird song
There’s room there for your thought

So quiet, peaceful, tranquil
But the WiFi’s pretty shit
Okay, I’ll say just for a bit
Then I’m heading back to town
