Poetry: “On Halloween”

Some personal musings on this unique holiday.

On Halloween

A foreign concept
It once was
In my parts
T’was unknown
Then my contacts
With the States
Slowly made me more aware
All the stores here
All the shops
Leaped at opportunities
Selling candy
Spooky things
And pumpkins popped up everywhere
Many grumbled
And complained
This “wretched thing”
This “Halloween”
As for myself
I quite enjoyed
In darkest fall, to spread some light
Pumpkin spices
Candy bowls
Spooky movies
Costume play
Lets have some fun, just for a day
