Poetry: “Autumn’s treachery”

More seasonal poetry!

Autumn’s treachery

She smiles so kindly at you
Unfurling colored skirts
It makes you barely notice
The ice within her gaze

She lures you out with sunlight
Admiring her looks
Wandering among the leaves
And breathing crisp, fresh air

But just like that she turns on you
Her mood becomes most foul
She throws her coat around the sun
To shut out all the warmth

And then if you’re unlucky
She starts to rage and cry
And falling down from roiling skies
Her bitter, ice cold tears
