Poetry: “Game side effects”

Another bit of commentary on that one mobile phone game…

Game side effects

Collectors craze
Filling coffee shops
To the brim
With milling teens
And children
Nursing beverages
And nibbling sweets
To justify
Their long extended stays
Charging phones
Sucked slowly dry
By such excessive use
Cheerful sounds
Of critters being caught
Inside balls
Spun on screens
Cries of triumph
Gladly shared
And catches flaunted
The fad not yet dead
And the coffee shop owners
Breathe their silent thanks
