Poetry: “Tension”

More mental health related writings.

Coiled tight
Like a bed spring
Binding flesh and skin
And bone
Pulling hard
Nerve ends taut
Stretching out
Impossibly so
Trembling on a knife edge
Lungs clogged up
With feathers
Unable to take air
Until the moment
Turning point
Snapping of a rubber band
All things pent up
Set in violent motion
And then
The calm
The body sucks in air
