Poetry: “Heat waves”

More summer related poetry.

***~***~***~***

Heat waves

Surely as the son doth set
They fall upon out lands
The sun that beats hot
Clouds disperse
And shade has such appeal

We stagger in the sunshine
And curse up at the sky
That heat waves happen
Every year
It’s something we forget

As surely as the winter’s cold
And snow can pile up high
These periods come
When it gets hot
Just adapt and carry on
