Poetry: “Through a lens”

Another photography related poem, a sort of spiritual sequel to the poem I posted about two weeks ago, if that makes any sense.

Through a lens

To view the world
Through a camera’s lens
Is to open your eyes
To a different world
See how things
Fit together
How they interact
With the rest
Angles and shading
A sudden burst of speed
A running child
A bird takes flight
Those moments
That you see
The rolling hills
And pinking clouds
When sun has gone to bed
The flowing waters
Sparkling bright
Abandoned buildings
City streets
A beauty that can hurt
To be filled up with such a need
To save
All these moments
With your lens
