Poetry: “Green oasis”

The city is cool, but you need some green, like I have touched upon in other poems.

Green oasis

In a jungle on concrete
Grey pillars stretching tall
A dandelion is a gift
Sprouting from the cracks

Where dirty sidewalks are covered
With countless cigarette butts
A blade of grass is welcome
Lining some old square

With forests of street lamps
And rumbling, spewing cars
A tree breaks the monotony
A grove can draw a crowd

Gazing out at all the grey
The concrete, cold and still
From balconies all filled with plants
With breathing, living green
