Poetry: “Bear cub”

Another trip to local zoo/museum, another couple of poems!

Bear cub

Tiny clumsy ball of fur
Tumbling round on awkward paws
World is still so big and news
Full of things to touch and taste

Not yet master of his limbs
Motor skills will come with time
Good thing he’s not all alone
Siblings there for tumbling play

Testing limits all the time
Just like any child would do
Only mother puts a halt
Gently swatting with her paw

Still so tiny, still so cute
Fluffy bear cubs for a time
They remind us one and all
That great thing all start out small
