Acrostic poem: “Walpurgis”

Old holiday based partially on ancient folklore and partially on some Christian based traditions, the nice mix to be expected in my part of the world. Walpurgis Night is a favorite holiday of mine.

Witches fly in twilight sky
At the Brocken holding court
Light the night with fires bright
Purge the evil from our homes
Until now the cold still bit
Rejoice now as warmth returns
Go outside to celebrate
It’s the start of something new
Spring is here, so sing her praise
