Poetry: “The Power of Nature”

What the title says, the reminder that us humans shouldn’t be so cocky when we deal with the world we live in…

The Power of Nature

Cracks in the pavement
Unsettled rocks
Vines slowly creeping
On building facades

Roots digging deeper
Holes filling in
Great water barriers
Eventually fail

Sickness and vermin
They worm inside us
The weather makes crops fail
And makes people starve

Winds gusting strongly
Gigantic waves
The earth there beneath us
It ripples and cracks

Though mankind keeps trying
To leave her own mark
Though we think we’re rulers
It’s Nature that’s boss
