Poetry: “Spring annoyance”

I am fortunate enough not to suffer from spring time allergies, but there are other airborne things that annoy me…

Spring annoyance

Their noise doth precede them
Spewing out fumes
Last seen in autumn
Herding dry leaves

On fairest of spring days
They come as a plague
Billowing clouds
Of gravel and sand

All dirt that the snowfall
Had once hid away
These horrid leaf blowers
Spread out and about

After some long hours
They’re finally done
With echoing silence
And dust settling down
