Poetry: “Living life”

Another poem reflecting on life and what we do with it.

Living life

Life fits snugly
In the spaces in between
All of the tasks we set us
The work assigned
To us
In the gaps where we stop
To catch our breaths
And allow ourselves to listen
To the world around us
It’s in the coffee breaks
The weekend mornings
Still in bed
Just lingering
In the slowing down as you walk
Listening to birdsong
Hearing the rumbling of the sea
The late night when it’s snowing
Making snow angels
Not caring if the neighbors see
Curled up next to a furry friend
Listening to them breathing
Just existing together
Just living
Living life
