Poetry: “Tunnel vision”

A mental health related poem again.

Tunnel vision

The mind sometimes inclined
To blot out all else
But the present
Right now
Convinced that the miseries
Are never ending
Stuck in a loop
Of self critique
As a car
Entrenched in snow
Wheels spinning madly
Yet getting nowhere
Inside darkness
Of the mind
Only hope that you can cling to
Reaching out
Ask for help
Hands to give your mind a push
Final effort needed
To break free of snow
And muck
Moving forward
To catch that glimpse
Of the light at the end of the tunnel
