Poetry: “Sledding”

A playful winter poem where I tap into the child that resides in all of us.

Crest the hill
Lugging weight
Staring down the ground below

Steep incline
Feel a thrill
Did you see those trees before?

Feel your friends
Egg you on
Just get on that sled right now

Hold your breath
Count to ten
All or nothing, here we go

Rushing speed
Hissing snow
Will you ever break in time?

Breaking hard
Cloud of ice
Then hurry up that hill again
