Poetry: “Murky miles”

A different sort of poem, slightly personal, for today.

Murky miles

A thousand murky miles stretching
Stretching out before me
A thousand unknown choices
I have yet to make
A thousand possibilities
A thousand ways to be
Are stretching out before me
The road that I traverse

I light a thousand candles
Candles burning bright
A thousand burning candles
To better light my way
The harsh winds make them gutter
And some of them go out
But many are yet burning
They warmly light my way
