Poetry: “Expectations”

A short little cautionary thing here.

Oh, there lurks a danger
A danger in that word
In having plans elaborate
And hoping for such things

Because all life has chaos
Such things can alter plans
That in a instant changes things
And you don’t get what you want

Be careful and so mindful
Of how things are set up
Though it is very tempting
To get carried away

Because great expectations
Can lead to such a fall
And cause great disappointments
So it’s better to stay calm
