Poetry: “The fox among the bears”

The second poem I wrote after my visit to the zoo.

The fox among the bears

Deep inside their snuggly den

The bears all hibernate

But without the fox is up

The watch dog of the bears

He keeps a very sharp eye out

For any thieves and crooks

Large black ears they listen well

For some encroaching crows

No onw may get in too close

This fox makes this darned sure

Attentive and always alert

He rarely rests at all

Darting quickly on his round

His fur bright in the gloom

For his trusty services

He lives among the bears
