Poetry: “Traditions”

And lets go in a bit deeper about traditions and what really matters.

Traditions

Old habits

Not made to be broken

But preserved

Encapsulated

Put into storage

And brought out

But once a year

Wrapping ourselves

Snugly up in comfort

In all that is familiar

All those familiar things

That things that warm you

That are the heart

The soul of holidays

Not the superficial stuff

But habits

Sunk in deep

Traditions worth preserving

Are those that make us weep

That make us smile

And make us laugh

Those things that can’t be bought
