Poetry: “The frost”

It is the month for dwelling on all things cold and frosty…

The frost

Fingers raking ‘cross the world
Leaving icy claw marks there
Edges are all tinged with white
Spiky crystals gleaming bright

See them now across the land
Leaving breath as steaming clouds
Puddles crunching beneath feet
Have a care where you might step

Icy world will only last
Until sun shows her bright face
Frost devoured by her rays
To return when evening falls
