Poetry: “Waiting game”

And we have reached the end of this long wait, the end of November, the dreariest month.

Hello, the month of insane shopping?

Waiting game

Life spent in a waiting room
Breathing slows
You’re put on hold
Tinny music softly plays
No one seems to pay no mind
Rustling paper
Murmured talk
No one wants to bother you
Elderly and children too
Generations all mixed up
Put inside this confined room
Where all time seems to slow down
