Poetry: “Circles”

Describing myself, the world, or at least try, using words.

Everything moves in circles
And my mind is not exempt
From the circular momentum
Of things in our world

Rings that spread upon the water
Seasons going round and round
Roads that circle our cities
Forest paths that loop ’round trees

Circles all and circles there
Going out and coming back
My thoughts that roll around their track
To return to the same old spot

Yes, it’s part of our nature
Part of how this world is made
So I blame this when my brain gets stuck
Running circles around myself
