Poetry: “Autumn morn”

I write what I see, I write what I feel.

Autumn morn

Breath that steams in the air
Huddled figures
Shuffling on
Buried hands deep inside
Pockets of jackets zipped up

Puddles left from last night’s rain
Crackles loudly
From the ice
Broken by those shuffling feet
Trudging oh so bravely on

Scarves wrapped rounds rosy cheeks
Squinting eyes
Peering out
Walking briskly towards their goal
Recall that winter’s still to come
