Poetry: “Word blockage”

A flavor of writer’s block, where you have ideas, but somehow unable to shape them in the way you want.

Word blockage

Head full of words
Stuffed to the brim
Lodged in my cortex
Making me sweat

Tangled in webbing
Trapped in a bind
Pushing and pulling
Can’t get them out

Worrying at it
Coaxing them free
Any distraction
Setting me back

Cursing and fretting
It rarely helps
Hard to ignore it
This lack in my life

Try to lean backwards
Relax and breathe out
Perhaps if I don’t watch
The words will come out
