Poetry: “Freedom”

One of those everlasting topics…

Free to do whatever
Freedom in all that you say
Free to be a moron
Or a saint
Free to take a stand
Or just sit on your ass
Freedom is equality
Or that is how it should be
Free to love whomever, wherever, whenever
Free to be whatever you might wish
Free to oppress others
Or not really
That is why we need some laws
Freedom not to be oppressed
Forced into a corner
Told you are lesser
One freedom can outrank another
Freedom not to cause harm
Free to breathe the clean air
Free to not be hungry
Free to have an education
Free from war
Sadly not the case
And that’s a crying shame
