Poetry: “Striations”

And something a bit more serious today.

Watch all mankind scurry
Constant search for some grand prize
Days that pour like grains of sand
Yeah, they pour right through our hands

Life is never constant
Is that why we hurry so?
Like that old game “Floor is Lava”
We keep leaping through our lives

As the sand slowly erodes
And is pulled into the sea
We scream to show that we are here
Not forgot when we are gone

Wet in the grandest scheme of all
In the eyes of our own earth
In millenia what are we men,
But striations in the rock
