Poetry: “The path”

The path

Golden light show me the way
The path that winds away
Among the trees that huddles up
Right next to where you walk

A forest growing thicker
Leaving houses far behind
Lamp post standing sentry
For where urban domain ends

Trees so slowly shedding
Their leaves of color bright
Makes forest walk less murky
And they crunch beneath your feet

Follow all those paths you find
Follow them through all those woods
What magic mischief might you find
If you dare to follow them
