Poetry: “Bonsho”

Bonsho (supposed to be a line over the o, indicating a long o sound) is the word for the bells you see in Buddhist temples in Japan.

Bonsho

Bong bong
Hit that bell
Feel the bronze reverberate

Bong bong
Solemn sound
Can be heard quite far and wide

Bong bong
Echoes out
Across every field and town

Bong bong
Listen well
It carries to the underworld
