Poetry: “Fuji-san”

Another inspired by things in nature poem. And inspired by travel.

***~***~***~***

Fuji-san

Large and looming

Spread so wide

Wears a hat of starkest white

Such a presence

Such a shape

Oh, it makes me catch my breath

Seated there

With skirts spread out

People living in your shade

It’s a comfort

And a sign

Of how things will stay the same

Yet remember

What it is

Volcanoes are a fickle breed

Sleeping now

But someday yes

Old Fuji san might blaze awake
