Poetry: “Ghost cat”

A touch of the supernatural, or is it?

Ghost cat

Dark of night as smooth as silk

Something moving in your wake

Try to see it and you’ll fail

Satin feet they make no sound

Feel a presence ‘gainst your calf

Something twirling round your legs

Hear a scuffle, oh so faint

As the curtains slowly wave

Moonlight pooling on the floor

Still nothing for you to see

Then a rumble, echoes loud

Oh so close to where you stand

Think you feel the faintest warmth

And sounds of purring in the night
